About the Modern template
A pale lavender sidebar distinguishes Modern from the plainer single-column designs. The left column holds the name, job title, contact details, links, skill bars and additional information, while the wider white column on the right carries the summary, experience with technology tags and education. Sans-serif type, small letter-spaced headings in soft violet and thin rules keep the two-column layout light; there is no photo in the default configuration. The split works well for candidates with a long list of tools or languages, because the sidebar absorbs them without breaking the narrative of the main column.
The column background is the single adjustable colour in this CV template, so the sidebar can be tinted to match a company palette or turned near-white for a quieter print. The photo can be enabled and the skill bars replaced with lists. Modern is a sensible choice over Prospect or Slate when a two-column structure is wanted without a header band or accent graphics. The template is free.
